We’ve been hearing about this little Carribean beach town for quite a while and finally thought it was high time to pay a visit. Puerto Morelos is located about 40 minutes south of Cancun and I’m sure many people drive past it on their way to Playa del Carmen or Tulum without a second thought.
We stayed 3 nights in the center of town, in a quaint 3-story, 12-unit building, just 1 block from the beach (here’s a link to the Airbnb listing). It was the end of May 2022 and we thought we had beat hurricane season but we were hit with a tropical storm and experienced lots of rain and high winds. It made for a cozy, but much slower time, which wasn’t a bad thing.
